The Legislative Council met at 2.30.
MENTAL DEFECTIVES BILL.
The Mental Defectives Bill was reported, with amendments, the chief of which were that two medical certificates should be given to the In-spector-General, upon the application of a parent or guardian to commit a minor to an institution, and that the periodical visits of the Inspector or official visitor should apply not only to institutions but to every, hiouse in which a patient is kept. FRIENDLY SURETIES BILL. The Friendly Societies Amendment 8511, from Committee, was reported with minor amendments. STONE QUARRIES BILL. The Stone Quarries Amendment Bill was read a third time and passed. • ' The Council adjourned until next Thursday.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House met at 2.30. ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES. Sir Joseph Ward informed the House that the report of the Electoral ' Boundaries Commission would not be available before Mondlay. IMPERIAL CONFERENCE. The Prime Minister said tihe report of the Imperial Conference would be ready by Thursday evening next. The House then went into Committee on the Estimates.
