THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.
The new programme at the Foresters' Hall, which was> shown for the first time last evening to a large audience, is an excellent one an every respect, and was miuch appreciated. There was a wealth of dramas, the best being "In Zululand" and "The Carrier Pigeon." The former is the latest production of the Selldg Company, and includes a. fierce fight between British troops and Zulus in the heart 'of Africa. The other dramais the work of the Kalem, Company, and depicts several interesting incidents in connection, with the saving of a large amount of bullion. "The Strike in the Mines" deals with miaaiy episodes of a thriMang character. The Biiblaoal' story of J'ael and Si sera was superb in colouring, and vividly .portrayed. "Undei- the Union Jack" was inscriptive of the training of embryo seamen, and was a particularly fine pictures. A novelty acrobatic film is also inoliuded, whale the police dog competti'tian is both funny and instructive. The ball' of far© includes several other good' dramas, beautiful scenics and comedies. The programme will be repeated' this evening. . The chiDdran's matinee will takie pllac© as usual to-morrow afternoon.
