A FIXED CALENDAR.
From the cabled news to the Sydney Sun, we learn that a good dearof discussion has been (taking place over Sir Henry Dalziell's Bill to provide for a fixed calendar. If the measure commands i ladaamentary approval, each month will begin on Sunday and end on Saturday. The first day in every year will be ia day suitable to he set apart for the framing of good resolutions. January and February will each have 28 days, and March 35. The months of each quarter will be similarly arranged. In kap year a day will be interposed, niakirro; on eight-day week between the end oi ; June and the beginning of
July. In ardor to meat labour conditions and remuneration, New Year's Day and Leap Day will coniform nearly to Sundays. BotQn days will be bank holidays. Provision lias been made for comiiavgs of .ago and other events wh&cJi might be .affected by tlio cliang© in. the calendar. Tine proposed new calendar will aplply to all the Dominions, fru* will be (inoperative untiil it receives international concurrence.
