THE PIG INDUSTRY
A HINT TO DAIRY-FARMERS.
Speaking at the annual meeting of Vtbe Wellington Farmers' Meat Company in Masterton yesterday, Mr J. <C. Cooper stated that a trial 1 purchase of pajge. had .been made in the tiislfcrict. Of a number of pigs slaughtered at the works, twentyseven had been condemned, sixty-one -had been rejected, and o% fiftythree were found fit for export. AM® was rather a startling discovery. He hoped that the pdgjs they Jhad received were not a fair sample of what were grown generally throughout the district. If" they ■were, the matter was one which should be taken in .hand by the dairy fanners. "And the sooner the better," remarked Mir Cooper.
