MAURICEVILLE EAST.

The annual meeting of the Mauricevile County Cricket dub was held in Mr W. Goodgame's hall on Friday Jiigjht, there being a fair alttendance of members.. Mr R. Brooks occupied the chair. The following officers were elected for the year : Patrons, Messrs R. Cameron and R. Brooks ; President, Mr J. Kennedy; Vioe-jpreside-nts., Messrs T. Hjillas, F. Kumlmer, J. Burney, J. Jorgensen, R. C. Fowler, 0. Blewett, A. E. Olark, C. Jensen, A. Larsen, S. Roigard, G. R. ClarL, W. Nielsen, P. Mortensen, J. Gioodgame; Captain, Mr W. Fisher; Vice-cap-tain, Mr F. Coomibes; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr J. Barnett. Arrangements were made for opening (the season and the meeting closed with a hearty vote of thank's- to the chair.

The wind to-day (Tuesday) lias- increased to a howling gale and up. to time of writing ishows no sign of abating. About one and a half inches of rain has fallen. Rjifle shooting was comrmenoed on the range last Saturday. A two range match, 200 yds and 500 yds, took place between the tßafle CBub and Miniature Club, the former wanning ctihe match. A heavy cold nor'-wester continued for. the greater part of the day, which was not conducive to accurate marksmanship. The Miniature Oluib, the majority of whom) are strangers to range conditions, shot very well under the circumstance®.
