SERIOUS ASPECT
SIGNALMAN FIRED ON

LONDON, September 18. The strike in the south-west of JVeland is serious. Dublin, Limerick 'Ennis and TSpperary are isolated. Strikers burned a house occupied (by a signalman who remained at work at Thurles. Two revolver shots (were fired at the signalman, who (had a nairrow escape. The strike ha,s extended to Qucensitown, disorganising the American liriails.
GOODS TRAFFIC CHAOTIC.
MILITARY ORDERED TO DUBLIN.

LONDON, September 19. Practically all grades of the great (Southern and Western lines in Ireland have struck. Gbodis. traffic is chaotic. The trouble is not acute on the jgreat Northern and Midland lines. Various regiments have been ordered to Dublin. The staff of the London NorthWestern Company engaged on the DiuMin quays has struck. Enormous quantities of perishable goods are imperilled". A meeting of non-unionist railway •men at Wedines resolved to form a (society of free workers. Speakers protested against the tyranny of Trade Unions.
