SIGNS OF PERITONITIS

CROWDS OUTSIDE THE HOSPITAL.

ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 17

Stolypin shows signs of peritonitis.

An operation has been performed, and the bullet removed. ' Crowds of all classes assembled before the Hospital,- watching the Stolypin bulletins. Prayers were offered in all the churches, for hiis recovery. It is believed that Stolypin was awn-re of the existence of a plot at Kieff against him. -When Bogroff approached Stolypin turned as if to greet him. ißogroff then fired.

ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 18. M. Stolypin bore the operation well.

A midnight bulletin stated: that the peritoneal' symptoms, continued, and his condition was serious.

Bogroff, while a student at the Kieff University, did a traitor's work, and: caused the arrest of many students. The Anarchists discovered his treachery, and gave him the ohoioe of assassinating Stolypin or himistelf being murdered. The authorities, regarded him as a valuable secret agent. 'Bogroff'® relatives and immediate friends, have been arrested.. ' The prisoner will be court-martiall-ed on Wednesday.

At a preliminary enquiry Bogroff stated that he hadi long waited a favourable opportunity to kill StolypEn. His courage failed the first time be saw a dhance, and on the second opportunity he had to draw a revolver from his pocket under cover of a programmie. He fired, hoping to escape during the excitement. ,

Some of Bogroff r s> teeth were knocked out, and he also received a sabre cut on the head.
