At an extraorSmalry general meet*ilng of the New Zealand Farmers' Co--operative Association of yesterday, it was decided by 121; votes, to 31, "Thlat the capital of the Association be increased; to £1,000,* 000 by the creation of 100,000 newt ordinary ishares at £5 each."" At tbd aauhiual mleeting held subsequently, the chairman,, in moving the adop* tion of the annual report and' balance ,s(heet, said that the aggregata turnover, of all operations for ttoer year totalled the colsosisal sunn of £2,961,688, being an increase for t!h£ twelve months of £610,754. As fait as the financial position of the Aeso* cdaition was. concerned:, be thought that it wiouldi be conceded that the finances were now upon a thoroughly; sound basis; still, as 'he bad! ex* plained in Jris remarks with refer* ence to the creation of additional capital, with a growing business sucfl as (the Association 1 had, ib was now jnecessary that the capital account should Be moved ahead consistent with the business as a wfeole.
