DOCTOR CHARGED WITH MURDER.

(Received September 16, 12.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept! 15. Dr. Peacock was charged wiit'h Davies' murder. .; ''.'.' Clifford Poke, ! Davies-' sweetheart, stated that he last saw Davies in Peacock's hospital on August 17th, and identified jewellery .and clothing belonging to her. On August 22nd Peacock told him that Davies was dead, and asked leave for the disposal of her body. He told ihim he would secretly bury it, and intended to take the girl's clothes to bis farm at Oarrum and burn them. Subsequently the body was buried and the clothes burned. He warned the witness to say nothing or it would be bad for both of them.

(Dr. Peacock had been arrested on a charge of murdering a woman named Mary Davies. A young man named Poke alleged that Dr. Peacock performed an illegal operation, and that the woman died from tho affects. Pea-

Three armed robbers dug through a wall, blew up a safe and stole £60,000 and left £SOOO strewn about the floor 3 m notes and gold. The Chinese janitor who interrupted their work was sandlxigged and tied to a chair. The men then made their escape. The hank is close to the police station.
