Paape, of Invercar- • gillj w&3 to-day appointed by the Board of Control to be Hfce Secretary of *he New Zealand Sports Protection league. There were a very large number of applicants from all parts of New Zealand. The salary is £6OO per annum.: Mr Paape has iesided in invercargill for the last 4 years, and has been closely identified with sport and athletics. He is at present .Secretary of about fourteen institutions, / Including the Southland Rugby Union, the Caledonian Society, the Acclimatisation Society, the Cycling Club, .and the Hospital Saturday Association. Mr Paape will take up his new, duties on Octoher Ist, with his headquarters ifi TVellington. . .
