Westerly wind's strong. to gale occurred in other parts during the night,' and a (heavy .gale i© reported on the East Cape. The windls have moderated and are more variable itodJay. Rain is falling in most partsof tlie country, and tihe rivers are high on tihe West Cbast the South. Isfeund. Piresemt indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain in mostparts of the country. Winds,Variable arid squally a,t times, but mloderatje fto sitrong westerly winds prevailing northward of Ka whia, NapSer, and) southerly breezes, . elsewhere.
