THE LIBEL CASE.
It is very miuah to be deplored that the No-license campaign in tQie Masterton district should have produced litigation of an expensive and disturbing character. The issuer in the question are very simple. At die most, they affect only the consciences of tilie people. Men and women are seldom influenced by miudHslinging and vituperation. It is devoutly to be hoped, .there-fore, that the campaign in tilne future will be conducited) with ciroumspeotion on hoitli sides, and that the district may be spared a repetition of the incidents of the last month or two.
