CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
THjRD ANNUAL MEETING. The third annual meeting of the Masterton Congregational Church was held last nighlt. An old-fashioned: siindiowln tea was held at 6.30 o'clock, when every available seat was occupied. An excellent repast was supplied' by the lady members, #0 were, accorded a hearty vote of thank©. t The pastor, the Rev. A. Hodge,! presided at the public meeting held subsequently. 'Special anthems were stung by the choir, and Miss A. Hodge rendered a solo. The Rev. W. A. Evans, of Wellington, delivered an address, in which he congratulated the members upon the siuooessi that had attended their efforts during the past, year, and he wished them sueoes® for the future. The annual report, as already published in the Age, was read by the secretary (Mr A. Hendry), and adopted amSd loud applause. Mr J. Hunter (treasurer) submitted the balance sheet, which disclosied a very satisfactory state of affairis. The balance sheet was also adopted. Mr W. Pragnell moved a vote of thanks to the deacons of the chiurch. The motion was enthusiastically carried. (On the motion of Mr P. T. Redmtan, seconded by Mr Fwt, the Rev. Mr Evans was also aoa.Jded a Vote of thanks.
