SOME CAKE RECIPES.
RICH CHEAP CAKE.— Beat well th© yolks of three eggs, and the | whites of two, with one cup of fine j sugar. Beat in, one half cup condensed milk, one -and. one-third eupg ' sifted flour, two heapiiig teaspoon* | fills baking powder,. one half tea* spoon lemon, one teaspoon of vanil-» [la extract. Butter generously two | large cake tins. Put together with | frosting made with one white of egg and two-thirds cup of sugar beaten together. AFTERNOON TEA CAEES.—One cup sugar, one cup of raisins, one half cup butter, one" teaspoonful cinnamon, one half teaspoonful cloves. Stir this all together and put on stove and let come to the boil. 0001, then add two oups of flour Tvith one teaspoonful of soda. Put in gem pans and bake in a quick oven. A tea that you wall appreciate is the "Mikado''' Blend, a tea that cos>ts but eighteen pence a pound, and tastes like that worth. 2s. It is a good, strong, flavoury tea with plenty of body, and extremely pleasing to the palate. For family use it is unequalled, for it is inexpensive and |*ood.
