FATAL DISEASES.
(Received September 4, 8.50 a.m.) LONDON, September 3. Cerebro-meningitis has attacked 26 persons in Stowmarket, and five cases proved fatal. There was ia discussion at the British Association's Conference as to whether Mr E. Smith's remarkable discoveries regarding tumorous growths on plants may possibly lead to the discovery of the origin of cancer. MAURITIUS, Sept. 3. A case of plague is reported.
