Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast:— Northerly aind westerly winds have pa'evailed, and gjalea"; in, Foveaux Strait on Saturday and (Sunday; but the iwiinds are more variable and moderate to-day. Considerable, rain ihias fallen on .the Wesit .Coast of (tlhie SouitJh IsHaud, land fair to dloudy wealthier, with warmer conditions, have prevailed generally. Present .indications air© for modiera.te to 'strong easterly winds northward of Hokditiika. .and Kaikoura, and northerly and westerly breezes el&ewfliere-. 'The barometer 'has a falling rtendeaicy, and hazy iand imisieittled conditionis are to be expected ait times in most parts of the country.
