Nearly all the Carterton players were representative men, /and it wouM have taken a 'good' team to defeat them. A team packed from the Post and Telegraph hookey fceaim. created rather a suripiiise by winning the junior competition. They' defeated Red Stair No. 3 in the first match after playing towo extina spells. Masiberbon disposed of Red Star No. 2, and then P. and T. put Master-ton, out. The finlal match was betwleen P. and T. and Red. Star No. 1, which was extended ten> minutes over the* time> be- . fore. R. Williams scored the winning try.
