The games. were all well contested, and: some good sport was provided for the onlookers. Carterton won the senior section;. The fiinsjb .miatch was .between. Masterton A. and 8./ and resulted in a win for the B team. Carterton then defeated Red, Star, and in the. final Carterton. Masted-ton after a hard fought out game. Nearly all the Carterton players were representative men, /and it wouM have taken a 'good' team to defeat them. A team packed from the Post and Telegraph hookey fceaim. created rather a suripiiise by winning the junior competition. They' defeated Red Stair No. 3 in the first match after playing towo extina spells. Masiberbon disposed of Red Star No. 2, and then P. and T. put Master-ton, out. The finlal match was betwleen P. and T. and Red. Star No. 1, which was extended ten> minutes over the* time> be- . fore. R. Williams scored the winning try. Thie P. and T. men weere. not likie- equal te itbe other I tieaimis in .-throwing the ball about and j.in football generally, but their hock-, ey form was responsible for their success.
