SHED HANDS STRIKE

(Received Last Night, 9.30 o'clock.)

SYDNEY, September 1. The stevedores have granted (the wharf labourers' demands without demur, and a strike has been averted. Hearing of their success, the shed hands loading wheat into a ship demanded an increase, which was refused. The men ceased work. Only twenty tons remains to be loaded, and no difficulty is anticipated.
