CANADA

Mr C. O'Donnell, Upper Plain, elsewhere announces that.the thoroughbred stallion Canada, will be again at the service of breeders in the Wairarapa. Canada is a dark chestnut horse standing 15.2J, having immense quality, combined with great substance and power, standing on a clean, wiry set of legs. Canada has a respectable record on the turf, starting in five races and winning three. His racing career was ended through an accident to his shoulder. Canala's dam. Alumini (11), is by Patron (5), Melbourne Cup winner, carrying 9st 31bs. Finland (4) by Bill of Portland (26), son of St. Simon (11), from Fishwife. Finsland is a sire of Bobrikoff, Lapland, Nyland, Vasa, Chief Lochiel, Heleanthus, White Cockade, Scotch Plaid, and other winners. Bobrikoff won the G. G. Stead Memorial Cup, 1* miles, in 2.7, carrying 9st; the C.J.C. Handicap, 1 mile, in 1.39, carrying 9st; Auckland Plate, Ik miles; the Porangahau Handicap, six furlarigs, in 1.14, carrying 9st 111b; also important races in Australia last season. Canada belongs to the No. (Ill) Sire Family, whose representatives include St. Simon, Orme, "Fisherman, Soult, etc.
