The annual (steeplechase meeting in. ocuraectLom with tine Wairarapa Hunt was 'held on the OkrevJle course of the TaTatahi-Oarte:ton Racing Club yesterday. The-Weath.n-wias fine, hut .a isltorong. wind w v across the .course. The attendmce \va.s ©oiraewJiat disappointing, and the fields were very poor, (although one or two of the finishes were clo&e. The double wim of Sylvia Maid was very popular. Mir Skipwith gave everv satisfaction ds .starter. A publican's booth was in charge of Mr W. Haliey, and -was well patronised. The whole of the arrangements were complete, .and the, (secretary (Mr N. B. James) and the various, officials worked hard to ensure the lenjoyment of a,ll present. Qnlv one acrident occurred during the-day, and .that was 1 not of a serious character. • Following were the results: —

These were the only starters. Rimu .and Master Webb led for about a mile, when the. former faded away. Overheard oame ifelst at Ithe finish, Ibut was•„ beaten toy a full length 'by Master' Webb. Time, 3 min.. 12seo.
