Mr G. R. Sykes* addressed a meeting of ttihie electors in It-he Hall on Friday evening, Mr C. Oomnior occupying the chair. A motion proposed ,by Mr Bowyer, and seconded; by Mr Gosg, that the speaker be accorded a hearty vote of thanks, was carried unanimously. 'llhe dairying season is earlier than usual, amd owing to the good combined with (th© bo far exceptionally mild spring, cows are an. a good condition, and a very satisfactory year is anticipated. * A party of well-wishers' paid a "surprise" visit on.. Friday evening to Mr and Mrs Wainwrighib, in; view-of their early departure, to express a neighbourly regret at ftheir leaving. A pleasant evening was spent, and at its clofie Mrs Wainsmght was the necipienlfc of a china tea service, which was presented by Miss Cooper, oas hehalf of the former's lady frieods as a small token, of esteem. Mrs Ireland, who has been on a health recruiting visit to Waveirley, has returned, much benefited by the> change.
