ENCOURAGING SUMMER VISITORS.
TIMARU, Last Night,
An.' Association ha'.s> been formed to encourage sea bathing and improv.o itlhe facilities for bathing in Caroline Bay, and generally make the (best of what is considered to be a valuable lassie* to the town. A drawback to the influx of. summer visitors has ibeen the lack of lodging aecommoda.tion. This l iwill he remedied to some extent by the. erection of an hotel overlooking the bay. The building wall be an up-to-date cn», with 25 bedrooms, and a promenade roof.
MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT.
TIMARU, 'Last Night,
On Friday evening, at about sax o'clock, HedJey Abbott, of Pareora, was motoring with two friends, iHonson and Haynes, when his car collided' with a horse and trap near Pareora river. The trap was smashed!, and the car was imoich damged. Wearing, driver of the trap, had a collarbone forakeni, Hanson. was cut about the face, and had some teeth knocked out', but the others wero unhurt. The accident occrainred at a corner, where it was a habit of traffic both ways to shave the corner.

The Rev. Q. H. Laws was the preacher, and the Reiv. Spenoe the Minister in Charge, and .the combimied choirs of the town. assisted. Lord Islington laid the foundation stone some time back.
