MASTERTON GUN CLUB

CLAY BIRD SWEEPSTAKES

There was some good shooting at the open sweepstake matches held in connection with the Masterton Gun Club on Thursday; The arrangements for the matches were capably carried out by the Secretary, Mr R. J. King. The twenty-one bird clay pigeon maitoh brought out twelve competitor's, and after some exciting shooting ;w&s* yi-bn by Mr ,'T". C. Irving, of Car*E. Warrington,;of Carterlon, being and Mr H.' Lo&g. pf third, after a shoot-off? -with'•Mr W.;'Taplih, of Masterton. In the seven bird clay pigeon sweepstake, five competitors tied for first place, and in the ishoot-ofF Mr Irving, of Carterton, was again victorious, Mr F. Taplin, of Masterton, being second, and Mr W. Taplin, of Masterton, third. .
