The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteo-. rological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast:—
..The barometer ha® risen, and. fallen' everywhere, but with, little change from la sit evening's reports. Moderate to Strong.westerly winds have; predominated, and squally in Foveaux Strait. Showery weather has -been experienced on, all the western coast and about Foveaux Strait, but, fair weaither prevailed elsewhere. Present indications are fw moder- 1 ate to strong ■westerly wind)*, ising and veering to aouth Cool and changeable weather generally, laud Showery on the west coast and southern-most districts. The barometer is 'unsteady, but probably rising in the south in< the morning. A storm appears to be developing to the nartix-westward of New Zealand.
