SHOP ASSISTANTS' TROUBLE

SYDNEY, August 22. The shop assistants' award has expired and the Union alleges that several large establishments have taken advantage of the fact to reduce wages. A new board is sitting. The Unionists state that tti'o employers are unnecessarily protracting the sittings and threaten to strike and paralyse business.
