POLITICAL.
MR HERBERT At KUfiIPUNI. Mr A. 11. Herbert, one of the Reform candidates for the Masterton seat, delivered a. ploitical address in the Kur.ipuni Hall last evening, before a large audience. The chair was occupied by Mr J. H. Pauling. The .speech was oca the same lines as delivered in Masterton,, and >was enthusiastically received. At the conclusion the speaker was asked several questions, -which were satisfactorily answered., A vote of thanks, proposed by the chairman, and seconded by Mr J. W. Maßae, was unanimously carried. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated proceedings. MR HERBERT AT HUKANUI. Mr A. H. Herbert spoke at Hukanui oiv Saturday night, and received an. enthusiastic reception. There were aibout one hundred persons present, and Mr Goo. Turner occupied (the chair. The speaker's remarks were applauded tliroughout, and after a number of questions had been asked, Mr Herbert was accorded a vote of thanks, moved by Mr Jas. Hunter, and seconded by Mr Pratt, and' carried amidst loud and • prolonged applausp. Mi- Dallas further moved, and Mr H. E. Mowbray .seconded, "That this meeting considers the time has arrived when the Government should be turned out of office. 5 ' The motion was carried without a dissenting voice. A successful meeting, both for the (Reform Party and Mr Herbert, concluded with cheers for the candidate.
