j MEETING OF DIRECTORS. ——~"" A meeting of the Di rectors of the Caledonian Society was held in the Dominion Hall on Saturday afternoon. Present, — Messrs J. B. McKenzie (in- the chair), J. Georgeson, G. R. Sykes, D. McLacfalan, T. Wyeth, R. McKenzie, R. W. Rob son, A. Collie, E. H. Waddingtbn, R. Cara- ' eron, E. E. Chamberlain, A. McLeod and J l . H. Pauling. An apology was received from Mr Geo. McHattie. ' Mr A. Snowball, secretary of the Y.M.C.A., wrote-, thanking l the Society for a donation of £1 Is. v The resignations of Messrs Geo. ' McHattie and Gordon Stewart were accepted' with regret, and Messrs J. W. Mcßae and P. Jorgenson were elected to. take' their places as Directors and to act on various, subcommittees. Mr .A. Collie was also appointed to the Programme Commiittee. The reports from the Programme and Pipe Band Committees were received and adopted. The uniforms . for the Band are well in hand, and will ibe ready at an early date, and 'bagpipes have been ordered. • In connection, with the latter it had 'been decided to raise £l5O by,issuing debentures of £1 each free of interest; but as this may have been delayed a week or so, owing to the absence of the secretary, Mr Robert Cameron, an.' enthusiastic member, immediately advanced the amount, with a cheque for the whole amount, viz., £l6O. It was moved that Mr Cameron 'be thanked for his generous action, and this was carried with, great applause. The. band is now on a splendid footing, thanks to the patriotism and enthusiasm of the above donor, and to Mr W.C■.Buchanan.', M.P., wJio gave the necessary £2OO ' for the uniforms. The programme for New Year's Day is compleite s and will consist of quite sixty events, while the prize money will total roughly £250. It was decided that the entrance fee be 2£ per cent, of the total prize money for each event. The secretary was instructed to take the necessary steps to secure the Park for January Ist, and with the Committee get out posters for / distribution'. It was decided to request the Inglesdde Committee to secure the use of the downstairs portion of the Town Hall, to be used in conjunction with tihe Drill Hall for the next Ingleside, to be held oil September 14th.', when Mi* Robert McKenzie will be the presiding Director. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated a very satisfactory meeting.
