Bates, of the'Metecj-! rological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast:— j j Moderate to >sftrgng" westerly. winds i veering to sou|Herly...liavei The weather Has improved everywhere to-day, but rain has fallen in' most pai*ts. of the North Island 1 , and on the West Coast and southern, dig-', tnfctfc of the South Island. The barometer has been very ainsteady,though without decided change. Present indications are for a slowly rising barometer everywhere soon, isomewhat changeable and showery weather, with moderaite to strong southerly wind§, preceding fair weather conditions. The aspect is, however, not yet settled either about East Cape or in the southernmost districts, where a small disturbance i« due to pass about Sunday.
