His Honour directed (the jury to find a vefdict of not guilty, as the evidence did not exclude the reasonable hypothesis that the woman 'b death was due to poison self-inflict-ed. The jury, without leaving the box, found the prisoner not guilty. Imtmediately afterwords, Jack was re-arrested on a charge of perjury.
