THE LATE CARDINAL
BODY LYING IN STATE. , INTERMENT POSTPONED. (Received Last Night, 10.20 o'clock.) SYDNEY, August 18. Enormous crowds thronged St. Mary's Cathedral throughout the day in an endeavour to view the late Cardinal Moran's body lying in state. Hundreds were unable to gain admittance. There were some painful demonstrations of grief. The interment has been postponed until Sunday. IRISH PARTY'S REPRESTATIVE. Received This Morning, 12.5 o'clock. SYDNEY, August 18: At the request of t&te Irish party ;\ Mr W. Redmond is returning from Brisbane to represent the party at Cardinal Moran's obsequies. THE GOVERNOR'S SYMPATHY. (Received This Morning, 1 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, August 18. Lord Denman has sent an autograph letter to Archbishop Carr, as head of the Roman Church in Australia, expressing his deep sympathy at the death of Cardinal Moran. He is sending his aide-de-camp to Sydney to represent him at the obsequies. IRISH PARTY'S SORROW. LONDON, August 18. Mr Redmond has cabled to Cardinal Moran's Secretary the Irish Party's sorrow. j
