TO STAND OR FALL.

The Hon; J f A, Millar stated iii the, House yesterday afternoon that the Government would 'stand or fall by the report of the Racing Commission. If this, means anything at all, it means that in spite of what Parliament may dp with Mr Jennings' Bill, the Government will only grant the totalisator permits recommended by the Commission. The Government is thus between. His Satanic Majesty and the deep blue sea. If it .stands by the Commission's report, and defies Parliament, it will most assuredly fall at the elections. If it goes back upon its own Commission, as ithe Hon. D. Buddo would have it do,..itwill make itself ridiculous in the eyes of the world.
