June last year to "three termsspf seven years each and an habitual criminal; in connection with the series of pharges before and after his escape from Wellington Police Station after he had been brought down from Palmerston North, got away from the Terrace Gaol about eleven o'clock this morning, but was only at large for an hour and a. half. He was found hiding under W. H. Bennett's house on Wellingtonterrace, a short distance from the gaol. Two nights ago he made an a ttempt i to escape by sawing through the bars of his cell, but he was discovered When about half-way out.
