The conditions on the islands were most insanitary, and tho rnce was deteriorating in consequence. Matters were ten thousand times worse on the out-lying islands. An officer should be sent down to all the islands periodically. He complained that no present Minister of the Crown had ever gone down to the rlards. , Mr Wright said lie believed that if Dr. Dawson was re-appointed, the whole trouble would be settled. Mr Arnold •advocated a periodical visit of representatives of the House. Sir, .Tames Carroll said that Dr. Dawson was still in'private practice on the islands. Dr. Purcival had been appointed,in place of Dr. Chesson, and was giving every satisfaction. Arrangements were being made for another medical officer for the islands.
