THE ANGLO-JAPANESE TREATY.

MELBOURNE, August 11. Mr Fisher, in an interview, declared that he had been consulted regarding the Anglo-Japanese Treaty, but it was so obviously delicate a subject that i:c did not wish to discufs it publicly. Referring to the Imperial Conference, Mr Fuher said ho was sure it would grow even to the extent of embracing other nations. He declined to criticise Sir Joseph Ward's proposal for an Imperial Legislature.
