A meeting of the General Committee of the Master ton A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon la si, Mr I-I. Morrison prer.din* over an attendance of about twenty-five. .members. GROUN-D COMMITTEE.

The report c£ il» of iho Ground Committee, hold in the. morning, was read. There were present"— Messrs H. Morrison (chairman), W. Perry, J. P. P«rry, W. Cooper, 1). McGregor junr., It. J. Dagsr, and E. Harper, and- an apology for abser.ee was received from Mr W. J. Welch. Mr Morrison reported that the caretaker would commence the erection of a- boundary fence between Solway and Messrsi Jnckl Bros.' pi'operty oni Monday next. Messrs W. Cooper and, W. J. 'Welch were appointed to inspect and report upon the ibest plan for subdividing the stock paddocks at Solway. On the motion of Mr R. J• Dagg, it was resolved that the netting-in of the grandstand ceiling bo taken in hand at once. It was decided that a hydrant 'be purchased for use at Solway in case of fire, and for flushing the main. FINANCE COMMITTEE.

The Finance Committee reported as follows: Debit balance on Juno 30th, £5651 15s 1(M; ©xper dit ire since, £26 4s 10d; receipts for the month, £4294 9s 4d; cheques to be presented, £56 2s lid; debit balance as per pass, b00k,..£1327 8s sd. CORRESPONDENCE, The secretary of the Auckland A. ■and P'. ; Association forwarded a copy of the order paper for the New Zealand Agricultural Conference, and asking that a copy be sent to the Masterton delegates. It was also stated that, the Conference s receipts were £176 15s 3d, expenditure £lO2 lis 9d, leaving a ' credit of £74 3s 6d.— The letter was received. " A communication was received from the New Zealand Producers Association, asking for support in connection with' the recommendations of the jproducers' representative at Home With regard to the packing of frozen meat. — The chairman said the matter wa.s one for the consideration of freezing companies, and the. letter was merely received. A letter was received from Blackbum, Smith and Co., of Christchurch, enclosing the following resolution. passed fby the Canterbury Sheep-owners' Union, and asking the Association to take similar action. —"That the new Poisons Act, so far as it relates to sheep dips, is considered, by the Canterbury Sheepowners' Union as being unnecessary and uncalled-tfor, and detrimental to the interests of sheep-owners; and that a copy of this resolution be sent to 'the Hon. G. Fowlds, the Minister in charge of the Bill, the Minister for Agriculture, and .to'.every member of both Houses of Parliament."—No action was taken.
