WAIRARAPA EMPLOYERS' ASSOTION.
ADDRESS BY MR W. PRYOR.
A well attended meeting of the Wairarapa Employers' Association was held last night, Mr J. Caselberg (presiding. ■Mr W. Pryor, Secretary of tho New Zealand Employers' Federation, delivered an eloquent address oni matters, of interest to employers. In. the icounse of his remarks, the speaker stated that the Federation was a rapidly increasing body, both as regards numbers and influence. At the present time the membership was 20,000. It was considered necessary for combination on the part of employers as well as on the part of workers, and this was the only means' by which the employers' interests industrially could be sufficiently safeguarded, aaid should receive the support of all employers of labour and business men. Mr Pryor went on to speak about the general activities of the Federation in regard to protecting the interests of employers in connection with the passing of legislation, assisting them before the Conciliation Council and Arbitration. Court, and advising them in regard to the operation and administration of the labour laws and Arbitration Court awards. In these directions the work that was necessary and valuable in the interests of employers was being* done, and. their, interests generally were carefully looked after. Mr Pryor also mentioned the fact' that Mr G. A. Tabuteau was proving himself to be a very industrious secretary, and deserved the support and assistance of all employers' of labour in the Masterton' district. • The speaker was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his able address. .' •
