CHARGE AGAINST A DUKE.
(Received August 8, 9 a.m.)
LONDON, August 7. Baron de Forest, elected last month for West Ham, in a spech at Dunstable, asserted that the Duke of Bedford, while posing as a generous country landlord, possessed vast slums in London where tenants were living in misery and squalor. The Duke of Bedford denies this, and challenges Baron de Forest to renew his statement in a manner affording him a chance to commence proceedings.
