The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have leceived the following cablegram .from their London house:— Tallow. —We quote present pit values' for the following descriptions: GoodVmuttbn, 34s Gd per cwt;,. £,c,od beef, 32s per cwt; mixed, 29s 6d per cwt. The market is inactive. Wheat. —Have sold. an Australian cargo at 34s c.i.f. The market is firm, j but inactive, and crop reports ar& unI favourable. American market is not j likely to improve at present.
CLEARING SALE
Messrs Abraham-and Williams, Ltd. report having held a successful sale of dairy cows, heifers, etc 7 on behali of Mr P. Stenberg, at Pahiatua, on Friday, 4th inst. The cows, numbering 56, sold .consistently well, and the whole herd averaged £7 12s, selling up to £9 10s. The hoifers, which were a nice lot, sold from £5 2s 6d to £6 10s. Yearling heifers sold at £3 2s 6d, spring cart £l6 10s, and milk cans at good values. Messrs Abraham and Williams would remind dairymen of Mr D. O'Brien's sale of 6& first-class dairy cows, horses, pigs,- etc., which they are i>(.'cling on Thursday, 10th inst., near xhPahiatua railway station;:' \
