A RIOTOUS YOUNG MAN.

COMES TO GRIEF AT CARTERTON.

John McConville, the young man who was fined 20s, in default fourteen days, in Masterton on Friday for doing damage at the premises of the Y.M.C.A., went to Carterton, to celebrate the event. He filled himself with the-exhilarating fluil known as "ink," and then amused himself by pulling palings off fences. The local constable took him in hand, and on Saturday a couple 5 of Justices sent him to Wellington for a. month, to work off his superfluous energy, after he has expiated his/ Mastertoni offence. This young man has started life very badly, and one other conviction will qualify him for, an, indeterminate sentence.
