A WAIRARAPA "B" TEAM?
Surely the junior selectors must have been under the impression that they were picking a South Wairarapa team when they decided upon the team to represent Wairarapa as published in yesterday's Age. The North Wairarapa juniors in a trial match defeated South Wairarapa by 3 goals to 1, yet, strange to say, only one of the former team was given a place in the representatives. The lucky player was Lawrence, who certainly deserves his place in the team, but there are many, or at any rate some, more junior players in Masterton worthy of representative honours. Why, I venturo to prophesy that a team picked from St. Matthew's and Excelsior juniors would defeat the representative team, because both teams would bo practically the same as the North and South teams which met on Thursday, with the exception of Lawrence. The North team had an easy win on Thursday, and there is no reason why they could not repeat the performance. If my. prophecy is correct, I feel sorry for 1 the Wairarapa juniors against almost any other representative team. It is to be hoped that the error will be rectified before any matches are played. Were the selectors afraid of making the team too "hot?"
