A case was heard in 1";io Masterton Magistrate's Court yesterday, in which John McConville --'cs charged with tresspassing in .the Y'.M.C.A. buildings: and failing to leaye when requested to do so by the-caretaker, and with destroying the property of the Association. D. B. Clou'gb, caretaker of the Y.M.C.A., said he had 'had occasion to eject the accused on another occasion owing to liis using obscene language. On the night in question accused returned and was again ordered to leave. Alfred Snowball, Secretary of the Y.M.C.A., said that on the night on which McConville refused to go out the latter was in one of the rooms during a lecture, and interrupted the speaker. • , Arthur M. Vile, member of the Y.M.C.A., stated that ho saw McConville in the rooms on July 28th, and saw him break a gas globe with a bagatelle ball. Witness also heard accused use obscene language. R. 0. Jarrett said that he had occasion to eject accussed from the 'gymnasium for unruly behaviour. Accused waa convicted and discharged on the first two charges and fined 20s and costs, 7s on the ! third charge, and ordered +o pay ! the cost of the property destroyed, in, , default fourteen days' imprisonment.
