THE NiEXT FESTIVAL.

The tremendous success wihich the Competition's .Society met with in Auckland last year has resulted in a much more comprehensive programme .being arranged' for this festival .this year., which, will extend over a period .of twelve days, commencing on November 271 th. The prize money .amounts to over £SOO, and includes the most valuable prize j ever offered in any part of the world J for a solo pianist recital, an Alii- I ■son Grander value £l4O. The cash ! prizes for Church. Choir® amounts to • £6O, in addition, to which there is a» ■silver mounted challenge shield for the winning choir. The .'elocution, j literature, drawing, and" debates ane ;all handsomely provided with prizes, and in another column will be found an advertisement calling attention to the issue of «u. booklet entitled "The Courier,"" which is indispensable to all competitors, as it.is full of valuable information, and to those who intend to compete the, Society strongly advises the immediate procuring of a copy.
