HARBOUR BOARD ELECTIONS
A MAURICEVSLLE RESOLUTION.
Tie Maurdceville County Council has (passed tlio following resolution: —"That in the opinion of this Council, the present cumbersome, expensive, and unftair method of electing representatives for • combined districts to the Harbour Boards, is quite against the interest© of ratepayers in Countiep and Road Board detracts. The electors in Boroughs are unduly favoured, owing to tho wide- qualification as compared with the qualification in Counties, the- date of the election being the date fixed for tibe Borough Council elections, again eives tho Borough electors an altogether unfair advantage, whilo ' tho results cannot be expected ■to justify either the large expense or the departure from the old system, •which in the opinion of this Council should be- reverted to." The resolution (has been forwarded through Mr Hogg to the Acting-Premier.
