MR MASSEY'S WITHDRAWAL.
Mr Massey has covered himself with honour iin his unreserved withdrawal of ifo& iimputaticn made by him, in the heat cf debate, against tlie late Mr Taylor. There was really no necessity for him to have mentioned the matter. It 1 might have been allowed to rest where it was. But Mr Massey, high-minded and generous man* tliait he is, felt that his remarks mlay have added to tlie grief of ttite lonely widow and her family, and'sio', in> spite of any consequences which migjhit accrue, he unreservedly withdrew tihem. His action l is warmly uppla/uded on. ail sides.
