Tho death of Mr T. E. Taylor, M.P., , which is reported this mom-wig, wall J <»m« as a shook to the whole com-' imunity. Altliough his condition ha® Ibeen serious for some days, the hope was entertained that, with his marvellous vitality, he would bo able to pull through. The worst has come, and New Zealand has been, deprived of the services of a gentleman, who had already made his mark in the poMcs of the country, and from whom great ibMags were expected. The late Mr Taylor, though not physically 'strong, was possessed of a keen mental perception' which, was to be found in very few men in this i country. In. many respects lie was I a remarkable citizen. He was the | most destructive critic in the House ' of Representatives, and was fearless j anrl outmoken' on al locoasions. As I a. debater, he was without compeer i in the present Parliament.'. A man I of high moral character, strong personality, humanitarian i.nsitinots, aind lovable nature, he wa,s the true ! friend of the masses.
