COMMISSION IN SYDNEY. WORKERS LIKE GOVERNMENT JOBS. (Received Last Night, 9.5 o'clock.) SYDNEY, July 21. Giving evidence before the Labour Shortage Commission, now sitting in Sydney, the Engineer of Hatnbours and Rivers stated that he had. experienced no isliortage either of skilled or unskilled labour. The workers liked Government jobs. A hait .manufacturer stated that he was paying £8 .per week, and wa-s unable to get men. If he imported men from England they would ha.ve to pay £2O to join the Union.
