A CENSURE MOTION.
CONVERSION OF HOLDINGS
Reoeived This Morning, 12.25 o'clock
SYDNEY, July 20.
In the Legislative Assembly,' Mr Wade gave notice of a censure motion, that declared that the policy of the Government in its proposed repeal of the Conversion Act would .not preserve in their entirety the rights of all those persons now entitled to convert their holdings, thereby .repudiating a statutory contract. Further obstacles are placed in the way of intending occupants of Crown lands who may be desirous of acquiring the freehold and «, further discontinuance of resumptions ■ under the Closer Settlement Acts. The proposals to deprive the worker* of the right to acquire the freeholds in connection' with their homes will tend to em'barass persons engaged in .rural pursuits and discourage land settlement, and are inimical to the best interests of the State. The House has adjourned till Tuesday
