THE SHIPPING STRIKE.
RIOTS AT CARDIFF. CONFLICT WITH THE POLICE. Received This Morning, 12.5 o'«lock LONDON, July 19. Riots have occurred at Cardiff in connection with the seamen's strike. Earlier in the day the dry dock labourers, and bargemen struck in sympathy 'with the seamen. All were out of hand: A collection of boxes in the East Dock were fired, and subsequently the strikers set fire to the Liverpool and Dublin Steamship warehouse, believing that it was used as a shelter for .blacklegs. The damage done amounted to £12,000. Meanwhile a dozen barrels of beer were rolled from the quay and the contents distributed among the mob, many 'becoming intoxicated. Barrels of beef and packed ice were also looted. Firemen using a hose, frustrated an endeavour to fire\some barrels of petroleum, the strikers retaliating with istories. ? -'\ Thirty were badly injured* including several .poMoe:
