PRIZES FOR MILITARY AEROPLANES OFFICERS FOR-AIR BATTALION. (Received Last Night,, 11.35 o'clock.) LONDON, July 19. The Hon. J. E. B. 'Seely, UnderSecretary for .the Colonies, in reply to Mr A. EL Lee, "Uroonist member for Hants, Foreham, ■■:n6 that the War Office was considering the question of prizes for military aesoplanes. The Army Council had been considering the number-pf. trained observers that were necessary for our present war requirements. It has been decided that from eighty to one nundred officers, who would also be pilots, would be required. The Council proposed to grant aid for the training of officers at Civilian Schools of Aviation, to be approved. Officers obtaining pilot's certificates would be classed as an army of airmen as a distinguishing mark from the army. It was best that a leginning should be made early. Air battalion officers and aviation officers, when attached, would receive engineer's pay, besides regimental pay.
