ANNUAL report.
The following extracts are itaken from the annual rejxcrt of the Mas--terton Racing Club : The Racing Commission appointed by the Government to re-arrange the permits for racing of the different Clubs has handed in its report, and rtlxe Ma.sterton Racing Club lias been only given.' three days' racing. Your stewards have considered it advis>■alble to race one day an the spring and two days in the autumn. Twelve meetings of the Stewards were held during the year, and the following show the attendances: — G. H. Yates 12, D. McLachlan 11, J. lornis 11, F. E. IX>rset 11, C. F. Vallance 11, A. J. Welch 10, J. Macara 8, W. Cooper 8, W. Piatt 8, C. A. Pownall 6, R. Buiek 6, A. Reside 6, J. Cress 5, A. G. Pilmer 4, W. lorns 4, C. J. Bennett 3, J. B. Moodie 2. Messrs W. lorns, C. J. Bennett and J. B. Moodie were elected Stewards on 4th February, 1911, in place elf Messrs D. Caselberg, n . Donald and 0. C. Cooper, resigned, their attendances being 7, 6 and 5 respectively. Since the aibove report was drawn out, a very disastrous fire occurred ou Sunday, 9th July, which completely destroyed nearly all the buildings aiiid appliances on the racecourse. The ouitsid© stand and judge's box were the only buildings , left on the course. As the re-estab-lishment of the necessary buildings will cost a large gum of money,, your stewards have decided to try and raise £IOOO on debentures carrying 5 per cent, interest, and they hope that the members of the Club and all , lovers of isport will try and assist them dn this matter. )
